Donation Policy

Tuks Community Portal is community-supported. Donations help keep it running.

Voluntary support

Donations are voluntary community contributions. You do not need to donate to use ordinary portal features, and donating does not buy special access, moderation power, academic help, or influence over other users.

The project is community-sponsored and driven by donations, but it is not presented as an official University of Pretoria fundraising channel.

How funds may be used

Donations may be used for hosting, storage, bandwidth, domains, tools, security, performance improvements, and other direct costs of building and maintaining the portal.

Funds may also support future community features where those features benefit the project and its users.

No tax or charity claim

Unless expressly stated in writing, donations are not tax-deductible charitable donations and the portal is not claiming registered charity status.

Payment processors, banks, or SnapScan may apply their own fees, limits, terms, and privacy practices.

Refunds and transparency

Because donations are voluntary support for running costs, refunds are not guaranteed. If a payment was made by mistake, contact the maintainer as soon as possible with enough detail to identify the transaction.

The project may share high-level updates about costs and improvements, but individual donor details will not be publicly listed without permission.
