Terms of Use

These terms set the baseline rules for using Tuks Community Portal.

Independent community project

Tuks Community Portal is an independent, community-driven project for the UP student community. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to the University of Pretoria.

References to UP, Tuks, ClickUP, Blackboard, library services, or other university systems are for convenience and navigation only.

Access and acceptable use

The portal is intended for community use by students and related participants. You may not use it to impersonate someone else, disrupt the service, scrape private areas, bypass access controls, or attack connected systems.

You are responsible for activity under your account. Keep your login details secure and report suspected account misuse when you notice it.

User content

You are responsible for files, messages, names, images, and other content you submit. Only upload material you have the right to share with the community.

Do not upload confidential records, leaked private documents, copyrighted material that you are not allowed to distribute, malware, harmful content, or personal information about other people without permission.

The maintainers may remove content, limit features, or suspend access where content creates legal, safety, privacy, operational, or community risk.

No official university service

The portal may link to or embed external university systems, but it does not control those systems and cannot guarantee their availability, accuracy, or security.

For official academic, financial, administrative, disciplinary, or registration matters, use the official University of Pretoria channels.

Service availability

The portal is provided as a community project and may change, break, pause, or shut down without notice. Features may be added or removed as community needs and resources change.

The service is provided as is, without warranties. The maintainers are not liable for lost files, missed deadlines, incorrect information, downtime, external service failures, or decisions made from portal content.

Changes

These terms may be updated as the project grows. Continued use of the portal after updates means you accept the latest version.
